Delaware Resource Group’s 2023 Year-In-Review

Looking back at 2023, we're beyond grateful for the milestones achieved and the continued growth we’ve experienced at DRG!

We kicked off 2023 on a high note by being awarded the USAF’s first published contract of 2023, a $19 million deal for the Aircrew Training Device/Aircrew Training Aid Services Program, setting the tone for an incredible year ahead!

In February, we strengthened our CLS Enterprise team with a valuable addition—a shipping container that significantly reduces transit time for support equipment. With our own people, equipment, and solutions, we can stay ahead of schedule on device relocations and modifications, ensuring top-notch service for our clients.

In April, we broke new ground in Oklahoma City and expanded our operations with construction of a 12,000-square-foot warehouse. We moved equipment and operations into the new facility in November, allowing us to meet existing demands and continue our upward trajectory.

In May, we witnessed a significant leadership transition as our founder, Phil G Busey Sr. implemented a long-standing succession plan. Stepping down from his role, he entrusted the next generation of the Busey family to carry forward his remarkable legacy. Brian Busey assumed the position of CEO, while Philip Busey Jr. became President.

A DRG team member was part of the group that designed and produced the revolutionary 6-pound collapsible ACE ladder for the F-16 this summer improving the way service men and women get in and out of the jet.

The summer at DRG brought even more momentous achievements. We proudly announced our selection for a seat on the United States Air Force's Training Systems Acquisition IV (TSA IV) program, a prestigious $32.5 billion multiple-award contract. This milestone cements our position as a trusted partner in advancing training systems for the USAF!

This Fall, DRG was named Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems Elite Supplier for the second year in a row.

In September we were awarded significant subcontracts that expands our growing aviation maintenance services line in the special operations sector and includes expanded maintenance and logistics capabilities. In November we were awarded an Army ground maintenance subcontract for equipment support that began on December 1. Both efforts significantly increased our service line capabilities as we continue to grow these areas globally.

Also in September, DRG was awarded modifications under both our prime T-6 and T-38 programs, a rehost for all the devices on T-6, as well as a visual system replacement on the T-38, both efforts are on contract and underway.

Also in November, the Busey Family was honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement award at a ceremony this year by Oklahoma City’s chapter of Sister Cities International. They became the first family in chapter history to be recognized for the award due to the significant philanthropic impact the Busey family continues to make in Oklahoma City.

For Thanksgiving, the DRG corporate office assembled and delivered meals to the families of El Sistema Oklahoma ensuring local families were able to enjoy the holiday with a hearty Thanksgiving spread.

DRG’s participation at I/ITSEC 2023 in November has already proven to be one of the most successful conferences for DRG in recent years with the opportunity to meet with over 50 companies to further our support of the warfighter.

Throughout the year, DRG continued to advocate and support Oklahoma’s Aerospace Defense workforce initiatives within Higher Education. DRG hosted interns from SWOSU at the corporate office and company leadership held workshops and lectures for several cohorts of the University of Oklahoma’s Aerospace and Defense MBA program. DRG also began a significant relationship supporting USO and its mission supporting military families.

DRG will end the year with several prime Federal contract awards, multiple subcontract awards and drastically increased procurement division’s throughput.

For all of these accomplishments we are grateful to our staff who tirelessly pursue ways to better support our customers, community, and military. We look forward to much more in 2024!
