Phil G. Busey
Chairman and CEO
Mr. Busey, born in Oklahoma City, is a member of the Cherokee Nation, Delaware Tribe and is an AV rated attorney. He attended Oklahoma City University, where he played baseball. Graduating in 1974 with a B.A degree, he went on to graduate from Oklahoma City University Law School in 1977 with a J.D. degree. He has practiced law regionally and nationally for 30 years. His expertise is in Native American, commercial, corporate, government, public finance, and contracting law. For the first 17 years of his practice he represented large regional financial institutions. During this time he documented over $1 billion of commercial loans and acted as counsel on over $1 billion of public finance bond issues. After years of serving as shareholder with several large firms and an executive with regional commercial companies, he established the Busey Group of Companies in 2000. Principally focused on aerospace, defense and energy, the companies have continued to grow and expand under his leadership. He served as an adjunct professor of law at Oklahoma City University and has been a moderator or speaker at over 100 CLE and business seminars. In 2010 the U.S. Small Business Administration named Busey Oklahoma business person of the year. He has been a professorial lecturer at American University in Washington D.C. and is currently an adjunct graduate professor at the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University. Busey has been married over 30 years and has three grown children. He serves on several boards of directors and is active in civic and church organizations. Busey is a weekly business columnist for the Edmond Sun. He also writes columns and business articles for The Journal Record, the Oklahoman and various publications.
Philip Busey Jr.
Senior Vice President of Public Relations and Government Affairs
Mr. Busey Jr. is responsible for the marketing, public relations, and government affairs. He also coordinates new business development opportunities and procurement. He has been with the company since 2005. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication arts from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and is in the MLA program at Oklahoma City University studying leadership and management. The Journal Record honored Philip Busey Jr. in 2008 as an “Achiever Under 40.” In 2009, he was named to Oklahoma Magazine’s “40 Under 40” and OKC Biz Magazine's “Forty Under 40.” He was also honored in 2009, by the National Center for the American Indian Enterprise Development as a Native American 40 under 40 making a difference nationally in Indian Country. The Business Times of Edmond named Busey Jr. "20 Under Forty" in 2010. He serves on numerous civic boards and organizations including the Board of Directors for the Alumni Association of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma and the Kiwanis Club of Oklahoma City. In 2009, he served as chairman of the Oklahoma City Chapter of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce. In 2010, he was named chairman of the advisory council for the WINS (Washington Internship for Native Students) at the American University in Washington, DC. Brian Busey
Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Operations
Mr. Busey has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He has been with the company in a full time capacity since 2004, prior to joining the company, Busey was an intern with the Busey Group from 2000 to 2004. He currently oversees the company's daily operations and human resources department, and is also responsible for the oversight of the company’s prime and subcontracts . Mr. Busey has extensive knowledge with union and labor relations, as well as complex contract negotiations, and government procurement. He is a graduate of Leadership Edmond Class XXIV. He was honored in 2009 by the National Center for the American Indian Enterprise Development as a Native American 40 under 40 making a difference nationally in Indian Country.The Business Times of Edmond named Busey "20 Under Forty" in 2011. He is involved in several volunteer capacities in the Oklahoma City and Edmond communities. Mr. Busey is a proud member of the Cherokee Nation.
John Tulak, PHR
Vice President of Employee and Labor Relations
With a 17-year background in human resource management, John Tulak oversees all employee and labor relations for DRG. He holds a bachelor degree in business management from the University of Phoenix along with an advanced certificate in human resource management from the George Washington University and a PHR from the Society of Human Resource Management. A native of Decatur, Illinois, Tulak is a proud parent of four sons and three granddaughters.
Clay Stanley
Vice President of Program Management and Procurement
Mr. Stanley holds a Bachelor degree from The Citadel in Charleston, SC. He brings extensive leadership and management experience to the corporate team. Mr. Stanley served as an infantry officer in the United States Army for over 10 years. During his time of service, he commanded two infantry companies with the 82nd Airborne Division and served during both peacekeeping and combat deployments to Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Mr. Stanley leads all contract capture pursuits for the company and provides oversight and management to several of the company's programs.
Ron Burkholder
Corporate Program Manager
Mr. Burkholder is a retired Air Force Lt Col and pilot with over 3500 flight hours in fighter, trainer, cargo, and special mission aircraft. He holds a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Tulsa University and an MS in Management from Houston Baptist University. Mr. Burkholder has managed Government training services contracts for over 12 years with a large aerospace company and defense contractor before joining DRG in 2011. He now manages several programs for DRG.
Mike Adams
Corporate Program Manager
Mr. Adams is a retired United States Air Force Colonel who served our country for 26 years specializing in Command and Control (C2) Battle Management Operations and Training. A veteran of Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, he’s commanded AF organizations at multiple levels and held senior staff positions during his military career culminating at the Pentagon with responsibilities directing and overseeing Operations and Training for all C2 Systems Air Force-wide. Since his military retirement and entry into the commercial business sector, Mr. Adams has managed several large government contracts delivering education and training services and products including platform and positional instruction and development and delivery of courseware. He is a graduate of Washburn University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and holds a Masters Degree in Counseling from Troy State University.
Paul Hafer
Corporate Program Manager
Paul Hafer joined the DRG corporate office in 2011 after serving 6 years as the site lead and loadmaster instructor under the C-17 ATS program for DRG in Elmendorf, Alaska. Hafer holds master and bachelor degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Prior to joining DRG, Hafer retired as a Master Sergeant following a 20-year career with the United States Air Force. During his time in the USAF, Hafer was a loadmaster for the C-141B and C-17. Hafer manages several programs for DRG.
Mark Williams Jr.
Vice President of Finance
Mr. Williams has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Science from Oklahoma State University where he studyed aviation and space with emphases on management, leadership, legal, finance, and regulatory issues regarding the aerospace industry and related government programs and missions. He oversees the company’s finance department with regards to government and commercial pricing efforts as well as assisting the accounting department. Mr. Williams has a diverse background in regulatory accounting and land management within the oil and gas industry, along with financial analysis experience in government contracting.
